The World of Aleth

Welcome to Aleth — A world with a diverse range of environments. Westvale, the kingdom of men sprawl over the west coast. Haalenor the peaceful, secluded elvish kingdom to the north east, and the desolate wasteland of Atrata to the south east, still untouched since the cataclysmic event known as the Magnum Nocturn.

Long ago, the world lived under the tyranny of the Demon Prince Orcus — until the hero Arrako the Pure led a revolution and drove him from the mortal plane. Now, over a thousand years later, dark forces are moving once more. A mysterious Mastermind works in the shadows, gathering the components needed to perform a terrible ritual and summon Orcus back into the world. The party must unravel who is behind this conspiracy, how they plan to do it, and stop them before it is too late.

At the heart of the mystery lies The Butchered Words of Kyoss — an ancient tome of forbidden knowledge, older than kingdoms, written by Kyoss, the Keeper of Ancient Knowledge, who dwells in the Shadowfell. The book contains the complete ritual for summoning Orcus, written in deliberately jumbled and broken form. Its pages choose what they reveal, slowly unfolding darker and more horrifying secrets with each reading. The book is now in the possession of The Stumblers, making them both its guardians and a target for anyone who wants it.
